Lamborghini Gathering
Wow what an event! Lambo fever hit Melbourne and the bulls came from far and wide for a long weekend of social gatherings, a drive day and formal display.
Over the two days we had well over one hundred people and fifty different cars attend the event.

Friday nights welcome dinner for interstate visitors was planned to be a quiet night, however, the locals came out in force to welcome us all to Melbourne. The scene was set and expectations were high!

Early Saturday morning we met at Lamborghini Melbourne where Andrew Smith and his team hosted the group for a morning tea. It was great to see a number of older cars proudly sharing pride of place with the new Murcielagos and Gallardos in the Chapel Street showroom. A rare Diablo GTR race car was being prepared to ship to its new owner in Japan and sat alongside a Miura and a Countach. Downstairs a Countach was under repair and a 400 GT 2+2 was being made ready for tomorrow’s display. After a guided tour and factory update the convoy was off!
Lamborghini Espada
Some thirty cars attended the drive down to the Mornington Peninsula, including a visit to see Rusty French’s magnificent car collection and then on to lunch at the Sorrento Sailing Club. The weather held and a memorable day was enjoyed by all.

The day was capped off by a wonderful dinner at Santino’s Restaurant on Lygon Street in Carlton.
Sunday was a blast! We started with about 40 cars meeting down at pit lane at Albert Park on the start finish line for the Australian Grand Prix. What an amazing sight! The cars then convoyed up through the Melbourne CBD and on to Docklands. We had 46 cars on display and a 47th in the car park! We believe this was the largest gathering of the marque ever assembled in the southern hemisphere and by anyone’s standards this was a world class event.
Lamborghini Miura
The people’s choice for the most popular Lamborghini went to the red Lamborghini Countach QV. This particular car travelled from Wollongong in NSW.

The best post 1990 Lamborghini went to the silver Diablo SV.

The best pre 1990 Lamborghini was the yellow Urraco P300.

By late afternoon the cars departed and a small group reminisced about a great weekend over more fine food and a few glasses of vino.
