We have had some amazing cars at the Burrows Days over the years, but I really think the September event took the cake. Two cars in particular drew the attention of all in pit lane – one is the most outrageously styled cars of our time, whilst the other marked an era in racing where only brave men dare tread!

Lotus has struck a deal with car rental company Hertz to allow its cars to be hired in Italy.
Lotus Elise SCs, which come in Hertz’s trademark yellow and have a customised interior, will be available from the middle of July.

Thousands attend Lotus festival
SAM EMANUEL
15 June 2009Thousands of people flocked to a Norfolk race circuit this weekend to watch and take part in a record-breaking car festival.
The two-day Lotus Festival at Snetterton saw more than 430 Lotus car drivers from around the country take to the track at the same time, and the festival organisers hope the parade will be confirmed as an official record within the next six months. Previously, the world record was a parade of 313 Lotus cars, completed at the Brands Hatch race circuit in Kent in 2007.

Another great day at Eastern Creek was had by all.
But not long after I got there I was asked to stand in for the official track photographer that couldn’t make it. So I was torn between camera and car… oh what a dilemma.
Anyways, the results are more “lifestyle” shots rather than the usual “just another car zooming past” stuff.

‘173mph’ driver escapes jail
A man clocked by police driving at 173mph in a 50mph zone has been spared a jail sentence after it was found his sports car was incapable of travelling that fast.
