Discussion in the Australian Lamborghini forums.
Someone bribed the BOM and delivered us a perfectly sunny day, cos as I write this less than an hour after the run it’s pissing down with rain – which would have been enough to decimate today’s record turnout of Raging Bulls for fear of melting.

It’s not often you see a Gallardo Superleggera involved in an accident. This one went off at Knockhill Circuit in Fife, Scotland at the Scottish MRC Saloon and Sports Car Championship. The owner appears to have overcooked it a bit on the corner and got a little airborne going down the small hill.

Learning to Respect a Lamborghini
For the uninitiated, the Lamborghini Gallardo isn’t much fun to drive. Work at it a bit, though, and it becomes clear why the car is so amazing
by David Welch
When I first fired up the huge 10-cylinder engine in Lamborghini’s Gallardo Superleggera and started tooling around, I wondered how anyone but a sports car nut would end up buying it. Sitting at a stoplight, I hit the accelerator and the car lurched with neck-breaking power. Sure, this is why one spends $245,000 on a 530-hp super sports car. But there is nothing smooth about it.
The yellow missile jerked forward. As I ramped up the rpms and the car’s automatic transmission shifted into second gear, the car lurched hard again. In fact, the Gallardo Superleggera shifts so hard that I actually moved in the tight faux-suede seat. And not in a good way.

Lamborghini pre-tax profit quadruples
BERLIN: Lamborghini SpA, whose sports cars are driven by actor Jamie Foxx and football star David Beckham, said first-half pre-tax profit almost quadrupled as customers bought the faster and lighter Gallardo Superleggera model.
Pre-tax profit surged to 26.4 million euros (US$36.1mil) from 6.9 million euros a year earlier, Lamborghini president Stephan Winkelmann said in a telephone interview. Sales advanced 62% to 253.1 million euros.
