You are bidding on a 1981 DMC 12 Delorean automatic. I bought this car hoping to do it up and finish restoring it however due to room and time it has to go. The car drives and mechanically is A1 and has a Chev V6 engine which sounds and runs perfect. Unlike most Deloreans it starts first go. The body, paint is painted red and is in fair condition, no dents with a few scratches here and there noticeably on the right front door and front bumber. The windscreen has a crack on the passenger side, along with the drivers side mirror and would need replacing if you were to register the car. I have a new windscreen you can buy for the price I bought it for if you are the winning bidder on the car. The right hand door is a bit hard to open hence the reason I have the side panel off and can be fixed by adjusting the door.  The tyres and rims are in good condition, the rear louver has a small crack which can be easily fixed. Interior of the car is black and in excellent condition for the age of the car, the seats roof lining and carpet are all intact, it is missing the bottom cover off the steering column. All parts you need are easily sourced from Delorean in California, I have had no problem them sending me parts. The previous owner told me he painted the car red so it looked like an expensive sports car. There is only a handful of these cars in the country and for a fraction of the price and some TLC you could own part of history.

Yeah, it's had a bad(really) bad paint job. To bring the body back to original will take a lot of work and will not be cheap. I have been involved in de-painting one of these and it's not a nice job.

I know this car, I saw it for sale in the States years ago, everybody left it alone 'cos of the paint. Funny that it's now here.    :?

someone bid to ~$15k so far...

I know they're an Esprit underneath... but sheesh... go buy an Esprit!

But you know what, IF it were in immaculate condition... and right hand drive... It oozes so much wrongness, I like it  :tilt:

This vehicle is an excellent example of these classic collectors cars. A 1981, Black interior, Automatic, Fuel injected. This is the "PEPSI PRIZE" Delorean, given as a prize for a competition run by the Pepsi company in the 1980's. This is also the car used in the Australian Modern Motor Magazine test in 1985. A superb, very straight, original and historic car which make it truly one of a kind. There are very few of these classic Stainless Steel body beauties in Australia. Currently registered and sold with an RWC. Custom Victorian plates "HOTDMC" are included. Genuine buyers only please. Do a search on the Web for further history.

yeah I heard that aswell today that the date they travel to was todays date....

I'm looking for a new daily driver, should I sell the skyline and the 3200gt and get a DMC instead? I am interested in the 350z because I think they are decent (and the 370z looks to bubble like for my sanity) because it is reliable, quick, small, reasonable value..... but now I want a Delorean as a daily
