Sadly the new Delorean will not look anything like the concept, it will in fact look exactly the same as the old one.

Why? Thanks to the laws regarding vintage car replicas being exempt from national safety standards.

However the new Delorean will sport a 400hp power plant, exactly what that will be is not 100% known at this time but it's a big improvement over the 2.8-liter PRV V6 engine that made about 130 horsepower which was installed in the original cars.

Improvements to Chassis, suspension and brakes are planned to cope with the upgraded HP. Electrical system will have a total overhaul and the interior will have a full overhaul with modern technology, leather, sportier seats plus a lot more refinement.

It will also ride on bigger redesigned alloy wheels. It's expected to cost in the six figures so it ain't gunna be cheap.........

It's funny you should say that, they "stole" the concept photos from the DeTomaso Mangusta/Ford Pantera project concept art and just photoshopped the badges on.

There was never going to be a "Facelift" of the body, due to the rules under which this will be made, it has to look pretty much like the original.

I'd never heard of the Mangusta concept until your post. The middle pic in Mondi's post still has the Mangusta badge on it.

The internet.

If the Mangusta concept would be made, I'd buy it in an instant!
You make something idiotproof, they'll make a better idiot.
