 :sorry:

Yes, I had a paper one as well......in fact my driving test was a quick run down to the Bakery to get "the boys" their morning tea!!   :D

How times have changed.......

Mine wasn't much different, and I got it the day after I turned 18 as I recall

That was kinda the opposite to an Aston when I think about it. It stopped and went around corners ok; but shit it was slow in a straight line.

It was a magnificently beautiful car at the time (as a plus size model), but even corners I didn't think was it's strong point - even spending only an hour or so in it in Tassie the above things about Celica's being "better" cars still would have rung true. Your mention at the time of it being "a nice place to be on my commute to work and back" was my biggest takeaway.

I suppose I am thinking of the Granturismo in relation to just how awful the old Astons were in the handling department.
In a more modern context, you're right it handled "ok"; but you're never going to get a 1900kg Limo to handle like an Elise.

Yes, it was a great commuter car and still quite a looker today. The 4.7 ltr "quick shift" sequential box has all that AND a soundtrack to die for
They are really cheap now too, a hell of a lot of car for less than BMW M3 money.
