I am currently in the UK shortly to return home to Melbourne.  I have a Vanquish S built on November 2004. Due to my circumstances I need to bring this car home on a Certificate of Compliance.  Was the 04/05 Vanquish S ever imported into Australia officially, and if so who was the Concessionaire at the time?  Or should I be approaching the Aston Martin factory for such a letter.

I have seen that the Vanquish S is not on the SEVs register so that option is not open to me.

The car has not been in my possession for 12 months so the PI route is not open for this car, and in any case I have other cars filling those slots.

Any help in getting a COC for the Vanquish S would be greatly appreciated

Your best bet is to talk to one of the RAWS listed here, they maybe able to give you some info.

Getting a GOC will be near impossible, AM factory will not issue you with one, the only other way would be to contact AM Australia but again, I have been down this path with a few different cars and they are normally not interested in giving you the info you need. It's not really in their best interests to do so...........

This is why the SEVS and RAWS schemes were introduced.

I think you may have missed a key bit of information in my original post.  The Vanquish S is not on the SEVS register, just the V12 Vanquish is.  This route is not open to me.

If someone can provide the information on if the Vanquish S was ever imported into Australia by AM it would be very useful.

Cheers.

Ah no, I didn't miss that key info, I didn't say you could get it in via the RAWS, I suggested you contact the guys on the list to see if they could offer you any help.............which is very unlikely but still worth a try.

The Vanquish S was never offered by AM in Australia, the ones that are here have come in via the PI scheme.

Oops, I stand corrected, they were offered from Jan 2005, 2006 and 2007. Going by the used car guide book........

If in doubt there's a number of good import agents I can put you in touch with - one in Adelaide who spcialises in Euro vehicles.

From memory if you bring the car in after owning it in the UK for a predetermiend amount of time, it uses a different process to the regular import rules.

I know a chap who imported a recently Vantage V8 into Oz, and an immigrant from the UK.  Although this car was sold here, he was entitled to bring it from the UK even though the rules say you can only bring cars in that were not offered for widespread sale here.

Of course my knowledge could well be out of date, as I havn't been active in importing cars for a number of years.
