I used to love the 80' and 90' BMW but the current crop is so boring. Talking about bland and repetitive design and I thought Porsche was bad.

I so agree ....I had many in that period, haven't had another since the E60 V10 M5

New M5 will also have AWD availability to compete alongside RS6.

Also BMW is bringing out an M2 with the M4 motor just slightly detuned

Can't understand why they did not release the car at the Paris Motor Show

Worth noting the AWD M550i has a 340kW V8 and does 0-100km/h in four seconds flat.  By contrast, the E43 Merc has a 295kW twin-turbo six and does 0-100 in 4.6.  Bodes well for the upcoming M5, if it does have AWD available as well.
