photos of seats look good. Car is still in Victoria - hopefully get it by end of this week.

In past - for leather restorations - I have found the leatherique products brilliant.

Sounds like a little man under the rocker cover with several small hammers.
We had an early 5 series in the workshop with the same problem.
The engine had a bolt on oil gallery the diameter of a lead pencil with little holes not much bigger than a windscreen washer jet to feed the rocker gear/lifters with oil- but were blocked with sludge(lack of regular oil changes).
We cleaned out the gallery and feed holes and the thing shut up to a tolerable level but the cam and lifters were beyond  satisfactory.
Ich bin discounting the cost of cam and lifters from the purchase price methinks.........

Thanks - I have always loved the shape of the E24 - and this has the M88 engine which was in the M1!

Car was at Brooklands Classic Car!! Should get it by next week!:D

Great pick up!

I've read about them but not seen them.  I recall the BMW dealership I worked at in the '80's sold a couple of the standard 635i but the M is something special.  Were they ever sold new in Aus?
