BMW Ends Production M5 E60

After being on sale for five successful years, the BMW M5 has ended its production lifespan. BMW M reached a new record high producing a total of 20,548 M5 E60.

The BMW M5 Saloon is accountable for 19,523 of these, with the BMW M5 Touring, which was first launched in 2007, contributing a further 1025 units towards the overall result. This means that the production figures of the predecessor model have been surpassed.

What's interesting here is that BMW only churned out twice as many M5s as Lamborghini have Gallardos...

Interesting numbers. Be keen to see the split of RHD/LHD. Certainly a lot more popular than the E39.

And rightfully so... A fantastic engine capable of keeping  up with all but few supercars and much higher spec than the cooking models 5-series.

Certainly the best sports sedan of it's time.

I wasn't keen on mine. Too peaky, crap gearbox, horrible I-drive, kinda ugly. Plenty of good features too of course - brilliant steering especially.

I know others loved theirs, but I was happy to say goodbye.

Just saw the top gear review, apparently crap around town and great on the open road, that's what I've got now :scratchchin:

Yet they praised the R32 golf from the other night and that has to be the worse car i have ever driven for start/stop driving.

Their reviews are just another opinion, but worth noting.

New R20 - far better handler, more zip minor lag from when booting from start
