You'd buy it because its the first of a lineage of great BMWs, its the genesis moment for the M3. I haven't had the opportunity to drive one yet, but those i have spoken to talk about its willingness and enthusiasm to rev its nuts off (210hp out of the 4 cyl) and its beautiful handling. Its one of those cars with character, akin to the way people love their air cooled porsche.

IanB over on Fchat has driven one, reckoned it was one of the best handling cars he'd driven.

Laslty, and this is the thing you like, its got that bang for your buck, and when you're driving it you won't see another one driving past you.  :D

I've got an E30 buyers guide that covers everything from original specs and build numbers to anticipated issues and problems if you want to borrow it.

As for cars on the market, the white one in QLD and silver one down the road from me are the pick of the litter

Lovely sentiments. I'll grab you for a run when I tee one up for a drive.
C'mon, do it!

Yes, All  E30 M3's were originally RHD, they can be converted and a few have been but i'm sure something needs to be fabricated for the steering, i cant remember what though.

Sorry, i meant LHD!

Any 6 series owners out there try www.bigcoupe.com.

Just to add, the M3 engine was originally the M88 six cylinder 24 Valve motor in the M1 and the M635csi, with the last 2 cylinders removed.

As an M88 engine fan maybe I am just biased.......James B
