Hi - my 2 cents - these engines are not common at best and you'd be better off in the hands of someone who has worked on them and knows them.

The chap I use has worked on my S14 in my E30m3 and also looks after at least 2 other S38 engined cars here in Adelaide.

BTW - with your E34 M5 - would you be keen in displaying it at Clipsal for the 4 days and also take your car out on the track for demo laps? The club is trying to get as many M and unique cars together to display for the 100th anniversary of BMW. The M6 GT3 will also be there.

Thanks for your reply.
Pretty sure I know who your chap is, but if you'd rather not make a direct recommendation here, would you mind sending me a PM?

As for Clipsal, I'd love to display it and do some laps.
Unfortunately, it's in quite a few pieces at the moment with little chance of it being ready in time.
Also, by epic oil leak I mean really quite bad so I'm not sure they'd even let it on the track.

A good friend of mine also has an E34 M5 which is seriously mint.
I can ask him if he's interested but the car is outside the city and he may have difficulty getting it here.
That said, for various reasons it doesn't get a huge amount of use so he might be quite keen.

I use Michael McMichael in Stepney.

Be awesome if we can get an E34 M5 there!

There'll be an old pre-war 328 too as well as 2002 Turbo, 3.0 CSLs x 2, E30 M3s, Z3 M coupe, E36 M3, E46 M3 F80 M4 etc all lined up for display!

Just remember to check out reviews and referrals of the dealer that you pick and make sure you schedule a test drive. Especially since BMWs are not going to be cheap, even with car finance, you'll want to make sure that you explore every bit of that car, from the boot space, to the comfort and to the fuel economy especially. Update us on your take when you get a bit more of an extended experience?

Just saw some pics of the Clipsal BMW display.
Very nice.

I fear my car would have looked a bit ordinary in that company.
