I think they just kept changing parts until they fixed the problem. Great mechanics

and, great for the dealer... they'll just hit BMW with warranty claims, and get paid.

What do they care????

the 02s are fun but prone to rust! 80s build quality imo still going strong today!

I must admit I hate SUVs but if I had to buy one it would be a Discovery 4.
With a bottomless pit of money...maybe a Cayenne Turbo S !!!

I cant see the point of an SUV unless you go off road, whats the advantage ? load more shopping ? I really dont get it.
I think people buy them for safety.

Did you ever work out EXACTLY what caused the vibrations?

Or did napalming the thing with new parts just fix it and you never will know for sure??

If they know, they are not telling me. All I know is it had a vibration coming through the chassis at 90-115 kmh which was seriously annoying. Each time they changed something it got a little bit better.

The biggest improvement seemed to be when they changed the steering rack, 4 airshocks and everything else in the active ride system. Huge job apparently.

I don't think they get paid whatever they claim for by any means. The dealer reckons he was seriously under water on the whole saga.

Thought of you yesterday... a plain white X5 drove alongside me in traffic, then a pearl white #something much cheaper but similar# was right behind it, looking better!

BS

they work the system.

They'll feed the bits through over time, and claim it from other cars if need be.

It's a bloody rort.
