Nice - how does it go?

Of all the M5s I've been in I've never seen one use launch control.  I've seen an M3 from the outside a couple years ago, not a perfect launch, but pretty dam good mix of spin and traction.

edit: if we need to edumacate people I'm happy to document the next attempt. :)

Come with me the next time I go out and you can experience it yerself..

It's quick and nearly neck breaking

Once the car is in LC mode, it revs up to 4000rpm then by releasing the gear stick the car just lurches forward with little traction loss. It then proceeds to up shift automatically...0-100 came veeeeryy quickly... :D

Well, forget the neck-breaking stuff... btdt - but it sounds great for traffic light racing. :)

Yeah, I always remember goober's rule of traffic lights... "count to 3, then accelerate"

For a more impressive looking (if less effective) exit, put the car in S6 and just mash the accelerator as fast as you can.  The car will drop the clutch at around 6,000 rpm and will leave lovely long lines of black.  Using this method you need to be ready to grab each gear as it will hit the limiter if you aren't careful.

You'd better tell them over on the E60 Board again. :p

BTW, have you found m5Board.com yet?  It is an excellent forum.
