And Tiff would get his tyres for free.

Meant to ask you, do you run it with DSC on, half on or off?

FWIW
i think that car would be easier to handle (and quicker in all but the hands of a pro) around mallala in S4 or S5.
the aggressive shift speed makes ou think twice hamering gears when you arent perfectly straight.
she has a tendency to go lateral.

might give s5 a try at the next track day....skill has a lot to do with it..see how you drove my car after only 2 laps in it. you slow down more into the turn then you're accelerating out of turns when I'm still slowing down. the fast straight is a matter of getting used to it i think..too much nerves..

below is YSS (red) v Me (blue), nearly 1 sec difference:

thats interesting ....
i thought as soon as we jumped out that i think your car will go 2 secs faster again in current form and maybe quickeragain with diff rubber.

i think i could have braked later and judging by the sidelines, i thought you would be braking later but it is obviously very different watching v whatthe data says.  from the sideline, you look you are braking like a maniac but it looks like it takes one to know one....

you can see you are going quicker as you enter turn 1 - wow. i thought i was going at it at 9/10ths through there even with the limited seat time
turn 2 is always good to me - which is my favourite corner on the track
i have a lower speed through turn 3 (double apex) but it lets me get faster out.
i think there is another second in the back straight.
even though i get out really cleanly, i was not confident to stay flat through the straight
you  can see the first dip in my speed is where i back off (the nose wanted to keep going straight while i turned right) , short shift into 5th, and then flatten it again.   i think the high revs and he hard gear change really unsetle the car and the driver. just makes it very prone to step out.
the chicane is just a slide fest in that M5 (2300m mark)

you can see how much i hit the brakes to get a clean exit onto the start finish line.

i think if you take the best of the 2 laps, there is 1 - 2 seconds in there.
at 1min 22 - that will keep most 911's honest - very impressive

it is HARDER / More challenging to drive quickly than a 911.
no question you can get on the gas with (almost) disregard for oversteer in the 911.
that M5 is one of the very few cars i have driven that can break traction mid gear.

coming onto the start finish line, i would say the car was 90% straight and when you flatten it (that last click on the throttle), it steps out.
remember how we drifted right through the start finish line?

thanks for the privelige of letting me steer it.

At the last PCSA club sprint there was a Cayman S doing consistent 1:21's. The car has had an exhaust upgrade and had sticky rubber. Anything in the low 1:20's around there is bloody quick and that's even more impressive in something the size and weight of the M5.
