A mate is looking at buying one of these. Anything he should consider when buying?
Any ownership issues anyone has experienced?

Check out that the doors lock, they are vacuum operated and can be expensive to repair.

Check for water leaks in to the boot, they don't seal very well.

The front cross members can crack.

The steering can be vague, this gets worse as they wear.

I've had plenty of them in the UK, 20 odd years ago now.

Rear wheel archs! If they have the stainless steel covers on them they are probably corroded.
Valve stem oil seals go hard and crack around 100k's. Take the car for a drive and open the throttle for as long as you can then takeout foot off, look in the mirror if you see smoke it needs seals.
They can be done without taking the heads off easy enough. Good way of getting a good buy price👍

Loads of parts available for them, all motors are interchangeable, vacuum leaks can be a pain to find soapy water helps find a leak.

They do rust buy AU delivered no UK imported cars they will have rust for sure.
