Was driving past today and saw the Maserati Ghibli so I pulled over for a look.
Externally, fantastic.
Internally, a complete shitstorm. One of the worst so called premium interiors I have ever sat in.
The plastics were awful, the alignment and fit was worse (the door handles are particularly nasty)
Worst of all were the power window switches and lid of the storage bin...horrible. In an $180k car!
Honestly it felt Korean inside.
For comparison's sake I walked straight over to an XF Jag (which is getting on a bit these days) and the interior shat all over the Maserati. Same with the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.
Then I went and sat in an Audi A3...a $40k car. Interior is incredible for the money. Like seriously amazing. It was only an S-Line 1.8 and it was amazing. I reckon the S3 would be a lovely car to own providing Audi have learnt how to make a car with steering feel. I suspect they haven't but only one way to find out!
I think the new TT will set a very high bar for interiors when that lands - interior looks great in photos.
Anyway all of this is of no relevance to how these things drive, which is most important, but how could anyone spend $180k on a Ghibli, sit in an environment like that, and still sleep at night thinking they got a good deal.
Disappointment of the year so far as far as cars go, but the Maserati haters will say "told you so!" I begrudgingly accept their accuracy in this matter!!!

Took an S3 out this week as a matter of fact.

Fast
Small
Plasticy inside and quite tinny really...
Overall ok but not as good as the Lexus I already have.

Anyone driven an M235i?

Evo didn't rate it. They said get a E92 M3 for the same money.

Which is precisely what I'd do.

Just wondered how it compared to other small high performance cars.

I think it looks pretty good, if nothing else.
At least for a small high performance car, anyway.

Just purchased a run out Holden VF SSV in a wagon for work/weekend..... it comes with just about everything you really need....paid premium dollar for it though ($43,500) complete with 5 year warranty!!!! It may have a cheap badge, but value for money is certainly there
Everything looks better in carbon fibre
