He surely gets paid by car companies for some of the reviews, perhaps even now by ferrari despite what happened in the past.
I'm not aware if they have ever suggested they don't get paid but I haven't gone looking for the info either.
If viewer numbers drop, even though the remainder are more engaged, will car companies still pay?
Or will they just pay the guy who starts every video slow motion drifting instead?

To me that wouldn't be an accurate review if being paid likely to only be positive

you probably know ROI on monetised youtube videos... are his numbers accurate?

The question would be who owns "Drive" that displays his videos on youtube and how do they work out the division of money? If Drive is a separate entity to Chris Harris and Piston Heads this subscription idea could have come about from them not getting what they thought they deserved as income for the videos. That said they probably only get $2k per million views depending what advertising deals they have. Harris's videos average about a million views or a little more each.
A gaming channel that I work with has also just started a subscription plan that pays them per video on top of youtube income, it will be interesting to see how it goes.

I didn't even think to check, the link seemed genuine and Neru had used it.
