Tempting, but I like the Spider too much.

0-200km/h in under 8 seconds is pretty incredible.

according to the video in the other thread, the 488 does that in 8.3 if I heard correctly.

JBO is right... finally... the rear end matches the rest of the car!!! Impressive and it looks so aggressive too!

yeah but mclaren don't charge 19k for stripes!

Actually McLaren took lessons from Ferrari when it came to sorting out their option pricing. It is every bit as outrageous as the Italians.

Absolutely outrageous performance IMO. It now really is at the level of top Superbikes as the Ducati Desmosedi has very similar times:

Ducati Desmosedici RR Superbike 202 Hp, Top speed 302 Km/h, 0-100 Km/h 3.2 sec, 0-200 km/h 7.4 sec

The McLaren performance is stunning when you consider the Desmo has 202hp to propel only 171kg plus the riders weight.

I think bike performance has kind of peaked to some extent. The Desmosedici was a "cost is no object" exercise and the current crop of superbikes 7yrs later doesn't seem to have raised the bar that much higher. Certainly nowhere near as much as supercar performance has moved on in the same period.

2 wheels and aerodynamics is the limiting factor

I agree, traction and aero would ultimately be the limiting factor. The biggest advance in bikes has been weight reduction and computer control systems.

and that makes cornering all the more fun and braking safer but the 0-100 relatively unchanged.
