Most tradies are tight ass's and don't want to pay big dollars to sling there tools around. Being dual cab as well it is useless for anyone who actually needs a ute.

I just can't see it working but hey 2018 is a long way away trends may change.

maybe, all that is needed is a glitch in the building industry, mining spec dual cabs are finished and those that bought them for rental are dying because who wants a dual cab with a roll cage punched through the dash board.
Budget bought 200 of them for BHP Olympic dam, when it got canned, all went back.....how do you sell unsaleable in that quantity.

I'm sure there are those who will want an AMG version, but in the real commercial sense......I'd put money on they wont sell a motza of them

It's not a true work vehicle. It's the dual cab as a fashion statement. It won't be a volume seller but they will be snapped up.

I doubt it but will be interesting to see if it is.
Merc have done their market research no doubt so let's see how it pans out.

I think they have seen a non Asian brand like VW generate good sales and want their piece of the pie now.

Exactly, and with a history in commercial vehicles it makes sense.

Yes, but it's not a good history.
The first Mercedes vans including the vito were a front wheel drive and were absolute crap.....they then bought out the new rear wheel drive vito that is good, but still shit.

They chew tyres out, they are always at the dealer for little things that need rectifying on a monthly basis.

sure they are safer and have more features, but Our fleet has probably owned close to every commercial vehicle out there and nothing beats the Hiace/I load for vans and Ranger/amarok (2 wheel drive manual) for ute.

This car will be shite and if used for work will disappoint......
if it's used to show off to your mate who looks at only the badge, job done!!

No surer way to be branded a wanker than to turn up to the job in one of those.
