I would like to know if there is a market for ECU car tuning for any Jap import cars? I am trying to help a master tuner who normally specialise in hondata, but he also does the usual crowd like R34, R35, silvia, evo and wrx. If you know anyone, could you PM me?

i would imagine thats about it. there are a lot of tuners around.
Everything looks better in carbon fibre

I don't know many people who don't have an ecu tune driving jap imports?

Jump onto an import car club forum, you'll find all the info in there.

My weapon of choice is Apexi Power FC even though they are getting old now.

Hi JM, where are you located? you want to bring someone in to Aus to do tunes?

JDMST, SAU, boostcruising are all forums you might like to do research on...

Yeap I do, he has distributor rights to parts, but I told him it is better to do tuning along with it as a package and come periodically to Australia, rather than setup a base here. I am currently in Perth, but I looking to the Eastern States for opportunities for him.

What Paul said.

Also I don't see a shortage of tuners for jap cars in Australia unless he is going to set up his own shop and whip the industry into line???

I'm all for another good tuner as competition is good for the consumer, but it isn't really a specialised field any more, some of the piggy back ecu's basically tune them selves these days and there is not a shortage of tuners.

Search for car clubs, most car clubs have forums, the forums will be a gold mine of info, www.skylinesaustralia.com is an example. But just google search any car make and you'll find forums for them.

I don't necessarily see a gap in the industry here, there are hardcore performance shops, huge shops cranking out sex spec style and everything in between. Again, where are you located? I see this fly in and work model working for some industries in some countries but not Aus.

I am in Perth, but the tuner who I am helping is from Singapore, but the tuners are from other Asian countries.
