Hey Guys,

I am flying into LA on 3rd July and need a car to drive down to San Diego.

Any good contacts or tips on a decent car to rent??

One way, or are you driving back? One way limits your options hugely but if you are returning the car, I'd recommend Olympic. They have Porsches and I found them good to deal with.

Thanks Guys,

So can someone please explain the insurance side of things?

I just reserved a car and then it told me that I have to organise my own insurance.

What is the go there??

Yep you'll need your own travel ins. policy that covers car hire as well.

As in full insurance cover for the car? That seems a bit odd. Most travel insurance I have seen will cover the excess you have to pay to the hire car's insurer but never heard of requiring to insure the car independently.
