Missed this thread over the last few days but I have Michelin Pilot Sports 245/35/19 & have lasted me 25,000km so far & still plenty left. Great ride, heaps of grip, bit of noise but all in all, great tyre

Isn't there a "sweet spot" on the trye that lines up with the valve(that is marked)?????

sometimes, on some brands.

when i used to change tyres (split rims) i was taught to line up the red dot with the valve stem. never knew the reason though.

check the date code on the sidewall... in a sausage shape moulding mark, digits about 10mm high

4 digit number probably...

eg..   (2503) would mean..... week 25, 2003... making them 6 years old.

OK, so lining up the tyre brand to the valve in this case would be a no-no.

The yellow valve dot is quite clear on the Yokies.

the yellow dot is quite clear, and so is the red one opposite!!!!

but the dots don't always mean for mounting alignment... they can be production references..

AND, I can't really see the tyre brand name on that one anyway  :tilt:

Some tyres have red dots, blue dots, green dots  AND yellow dots, all at different places around the tyre..... then what?

yeah  :D

should align the tyre brand name with the valve when mounting the tyres up too...

if they REALLY cared......

 :mischief:

Don't tyres rotate on the rims as you drive hard?

I know that happened when racing karts.  Just a thought on the alignment issue.

I didn't think this happened very often unless there is a tyre failure.
