I've only bought two Motor mags, both times I was in it. :D

As a featured hooligan in one of the articles up the back?  :D

You'd better get this month's MOTOR - It features Adam's Zonda.

I don't agree about MOTOR - I find it and EVO very useful.  You can't get a test drive in most new cars before you order them so the road tests are essential reading.  I ordered my M5 before I drove one on the strength of magazine tests and same with the Gallardo SE.  If you wait till the car is here, they are all sold!

Yeah I'm with mhh here. I don't find Motor to bad, prefer it over wheels that's for sure.

So you trading the M5 on an RS6 then mhh?

I doubt it.  Too big for me and too much power for the missus.  I'll check it out though. :)

Plus 1 on EVO magazine, it is my only regular buy (I'm lucky to get Motor as a cast-off). EVO seems to be the only mag that goes into detail as to how a car feels. The couple of EVO type cars I've driven, and my silver shopper, are fairly well described in the mag as how they feel to me. Other magazines, like Motor, seem to miss the finer details. Seemingly saying a car is good, but in a way only saying that because a) they rely on advertising revenue, or b) because they read it in another magazine. But Motor is much better than it used to be.

I must admit when I used to buy Modern Motor and Wheels regularly in the 1970's I loved seeing what you now know as the most unlikely cars doing incredible things. Jumping XC Falcons and Mercedes, drifting family sedans etc. The manufacturers must have clamped down on getting cars back on a tow truck :-).

You bet! I do know manufacturers threaten magazines with pulling scheduled advertising. Which is why you never read a bad article about a car unless it is out of production. Take the commondore for example - 3 recalls in it's first month of release, yet it was good enough to win car of the year! What a joke!!

That's why I do not read Motor or wheels anymore - too biased towards who pays the bills. And most of the interesteing cars are tested overseas by freelance journo's who don't actually write for Motors/Wheels.

Having said all that, I was an avid reader of these mags when I was at school. Until I found Autosport - then my world changed!
