Aaron - international agreement - Carnet de passages passport system - allows you to bring a car into a country for up to 12 months but car needs to be exported out again. May require a custom bond to the value of the car in some countries to ensure car gets exported out.

Forgiveness is easier to achieve than permission!

What it means is you can buy a 918 in Europe, bring it to aus for the summer to drive around legally, then take it home to the Swiss Alps for Euro summer.

I was aware of the Carnet in Australia with having to pay the LCT in a Bond.

I just wasn't aware of it in Hong Kong.
