Howdy

Long term lurker; first time poster.

I would like some advice on what car to buy next. My budget is 200K, although I fear I will hesitate to spend that much.

My previous cars in the last 15 years have been;

02 M3
04 M3
09 E63 AMG
11 911 Series 2 Carrera 4S

The Porsche is sold subject to a decent PPI. I have a second bunky to cruise in but would like to pull the trigger on a decent motor before XMAS.

I don't like to buy new.

I've spent the weekend here in Perth on carsales and it seems to me that the only options available to the prestige buyer for a daily driver are the R8 or Aston Martin, once the Nissan GTR and Italian varieties have been discounted.

The R8 impressed me when it was released, but now looks like the TT's bigger brother. The repair bills on the Aston scare me.

I have considered the CL63 AMG but it doesn't have the street presence I'm looking for. There's only one used car for sale right now, at 245K, so it's too rich for my blood anyway.

Anything I'm missing?

Cheers.

PS** What's the deal with Ferrari prices? A good 360 for 150K? They're over ten years old! Prices seem to be going up and they're far from collectable, surely?!

Thanks

The depreciation on the CL63 will be epic.

Fli-ski. Cheers.

997 Series 1 GT3 too old for me. Considered the 911 991 Carrera or Carrera S, but I don't like how the undercarriage of the Porsche's become discoloured really quickly. Pissed me off with the latest car. Could get it painted I guess.

C63s don't grab my attention either. The 4 door variety looks very plain.

I shall go back on carsales now and look at the GT3s anyway, because i didn't give them a second thought.

Crazy prices on GT3s. Just checked. Asking close to 200K for MY07. WTF is going on in this market?

Have they gone up also?

Why did you sell the other Porsche?
What's your maximum age of vehicle?

Got a good price for it. 142.5K. Travelled almost 60000kms. Had all the fruit. I was the second owner. Got bored of it. I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. This will sound funny, but to some extent it seemed underpowered. I know it was light, but it wasn't as quick as I thought it was going to be. Also had it for 3 1/2 years.

maximum age: not really considered it. Would love MY12/13. Will consider older, with low kms and good history inc PPI.

If you want to do a Porsche apart from the GT3 the 991 Carrera S can be had for under $200k.
Yes GT3 prices have rocketed up.

360's were being brought in quite cheaply when the exchange rates were more in our favour so prices went down because the market was flooded with imports. Changes with exchange rates have driven up the prices of good cars again.
