Really?   D type was so much more beautiful of a car IMO

You can build a new a brand new uprated E-Type around a chassis plate and it will be treated as the real thing. A  D Type recreation will always be that. A copy car.

Lord March has already said that these Jaguars are "recreations" and not welcome at Goodwood dispite being given saved chassis numbers and being officially recorded in Jaguar heritage build book (They left spaces blank for the cars in the 1960s).

Good on him. I do not agree with what Jaguar has done.

But mark said he would be interested if they did the same thing on an E type.if they were doing a recreation ae type vs recreation type, I know which id prefer.  In fact I think I'd prefer this recreated xkss over a genuine e type as well.

wow.  I'd love to see these guys or Eagle, perhaps even Singer, do this sort of thing with a Lambo Miura.

Carl Lindner in the Barossa SA is building world standard, road registered  "D Types", "C Types" and "XKSS'".

It might be the angle but that XKSS replica doesn't look very accurate to me.

That's what I was thinking too.

My understanding is that they are built in conjunction with these guys.

They are bloody brave building Ferrari replicas and using the Ferrari trademarks on the finished product. Ferrari don't fuck about when it comes to protecting their products and trademarks.
