The factory gave the dealers a list of names who were to be offered the cars. If those names declined the dealer list the car that was allocated. It couldn't be reallocated to a client of the dealers choosing.

Dunno about the age thing. The buyer I met was early 50's like me.

The whole idea is a double edged sword I reckon. You please five annointed buyers and piss off a lot more long term loyal buyers of the brand. They can always take their money elsewhere next time around.

BTW the new CEO of Ferrari will be doing lots more of these "special" release limited production models in the future. These days it is even more about the bucks than it was in the past.

Lack of communication between car and driver. 4.5 stars. That is surprising. Autocar wasn't mad about it either.

Hard task to get an accurate picture of the car with 4 laps of the track and a limited drive. I don't doubt the appraisals from the journos but I would have thought more time with the car was necessary for a definitive verdict.

For sure but I was expecting a 5 star car - and I think the reviewers were too.
