only thing that is lacking is windscreen protection against chips and cracks. Paint chips I can handle but windscreen chips and cracks I can't. www.clearplex.com

Not available in Adelaide but available everywhere else.

I'm not sure I'd use it anyway as it can't be as clear as a clean screen.

Clearplex is for glass, not paint. It's thicker and made for flat surfaces.

Anyway its not legal to put anything on the windshield in Adelaide....... except for a defect notice.

Its scratch resistant not scratch proof according to the Melb distributor of Clearplex who said that it will still take the abuse from wipers. However he said that it cannot be legally installed in SA because of different road laws.

Hmmm, I thought Victoria was the same????  Maybe it's just tint they won't allow, can only have the top 6 inches or so tinted with film.......

what do renaults have on their windscreens. not sure if i only see it with polarised sunnys on or not, but they look purplish....

that is a type of tint that is built into the glass, thus it is legal.  BMW/Merc/Rangerover have it now......


I think it's something to do with IR more so than UV.......
