The instant give away for me was how small the fine was. No fines are that cheap any more.

One of the older chaps I work with who is not so savvy with computers opened a link in the AFP email. The virus encrypted all of his files (and most likely harvested its contents too). Took a whole day for the IT dude to unwind it.

My numbnut employees nuked the complete IT systems in one of my businesses TWICE with ransomeware virus

The first time cost me $15k to fix plus 1.5 days turnover. I assumed incorrectly as it turns out that the $15k would make it idiot proof for the future. Apparently I employ a better class of idiot as a few months later they managed to do it again  :gnasher: :gnasher:

I long for the day when I never have to employ anybody ever again *sigh*

Often these emails or flash's on a laptop come up after viewing porn.

Terrible those ransom wares;  I use a VPN now and my server copies all mail to gmail so I can access via web and phone.  While Gmail has big brother watching (NSA?) its virus/trojan protection is outstanding.  with the Antivirus on my desk top as well I have 4 layers of protection.

I am sure your IT people can find a solution.
