Another reason that cycling in inner Melbourne is almost always faster than driving. ::)

I now avoid driving to town until late at night when there is little traffic and some of the 40 zones become 60 again.

And motorcycling/scootering is faster again.

They don't set off the speed cameras, not that I have seen anyhoo.....

Have seen a video floating around of someone on a longboard setting off a camera, it wasn't in Australia but I don't imagine the tech. is all that different. A push bike can trigger the induction loops for traffic lights..
