Please pardon my ignorance of the but what is the actual cause of the issue?  Are the cheap plastic switches reacting to the heat in the cabin? Or over time the glue is becoming more viscuous?

its like a rubber style coating over the button/switch/door lever, over time heat build up causes the rubber to wear off. I drove the 575 for a year as a daily driver, it was outside in all weather and the heat just melted the top coating.
Meeting women on the Internet? Remember, the more similarities u “magically” have, & the more she agrees with u, the fucking crazier she is.

I've got it on my audi, I never noticed it until I left my windows open on a really wet day (undercover)
The humidity really lifted the coating.

Same on Gallardos, same on many Porsches, same on all ferrari's post 348.

We did a trial run of 3d metal printing switches for the Gallardo and they were great. It's possible now to do a titanium cover for buttons that's a fraction of a millimetre thick, which would be an easy DIY stick on project.

One more bit of work I'm yet to get finished!!
Same issue with 997TT's too?

Only on the volume/tuner knobs and the adjustment to the aircon switches. Knobs easy to fix, aircon switches just look a bit poop.

Window switches and other buttons all goodness!
C'mon, do it!

I wouldn't be too sure about that as I reckon they still use the same crap today.
