I thought they stopped after the link is lost for a short period.
Should try it and see how the BM reacts.

They keep driving, I've already done it. You do get a lovely warning light on the dash though which must amuse the thief as he continues to drive until it runs out of petrol

My old man drives to my office walks in and winged his car wont lock.

I walk out and have a look, sure enough it wont lock. It will even start with the keys out of range...
