First stop today I dropped into that place that had the P100d Sportline Tesla's and I met the owner of Sportine which is their after market brand. Basically these dude look after all mods for high end cars.

Anyway I went in there to ask if they could fit front sensors to the merc and left $9,800 USD lighter.

Sensors - $800

Escort 9500ci - $4,500 which is the most advanced laser jamming or shifting as they call it and radar detection.

The system is 360 degrees around the car and does NOT get set off by sliding doors or blind spot monitoring as these guys manually tune out all of the bullshit frequency that normally cause false alarms.

Expel $4,500 - full body wrap.

The car goes in this Friday for 1 week.

Priorities. So then we went furniture shopping.

Escort 9500ci - is AUD$2k ??

Only for the front of the car. Not the rear.

The System they sell is a full 360 Degree protection.

It won't do 360.  What they are referring to I suspect is defusers on the front and rear.  The way laser works is like a beam, rather than a spray.  This is why it is so critical that the heads are lines up correctly both horizontally and vertically.  You don't get hit on the side (which is how they can claim 360), and if you did there is no head there to protect you.

From everything I have read, AntiLaser Priority is the best unit to have, plus it is regularly updated.

u sure?

http://www.dontgetcaught.com.au/catalog/item/5421084/6156721.htm

This unit is similar. However the one I got is the Platinum Pro - http://www.ebay.com/itm/ESCORT-9500CI-PLATINUM-Radar-Laser-Detecrot-W-SHIFTERPRO-9500CIPLATINUM-NEW-/152250415489

BTW - I just checked my invoice and it was $4K for the Radar and $5k for the wrap.

I guess they are charging a reasonable amount for installation.

I wonder why JB doesn't use this unit?

Radar in the rear won't help you in many situations anyway. In most situations where the Cops get you from behind they will be in a car and will pace you and get the speed from their "certified" speedo in the car.
