360C, how would you describe the sound of the F50?

I have heard you comment on how great the 355CH sound is, and how the modern Ferraris are not the same anymore.  But I wondered, what about the F50?  Forgive me if you have already mentioned it elsewhere and I haven't had a chance to read all off the F50 thread either.

I thought the F50 sounded fantastic, but it didn't curl my pubes any more than the 360CS or F355CH, and certainly not even a contender against the 360NGT - but that's like comparing Mercury to Jupiter.

Some vids of ~40 Ferraris from 2007...

OMG...in vid 2 I heard Moretti talking about an oil leak! Just towards the end. How funny.

If that F50 wasn't so bloody fast, we might have had a chance to hear what it sounds like!

I love my car. Buy your own

Surprisingly, that silver 308 sounded bloody good too. Bit of smoke though.

The F50 sounded anywhere from fantastic to absolutely BIBLICAL depending upon the exhaust system that was fitted.

The first F50 that T-REX (Raftis) owned had the full monty, totally unsilenced Tubi system fitted. When I say unsilenced, it was straight through from the headers right back to the exhaust tips. Nothing, nada ,ZIP in the way of muffling the noise.
It sounded like a Bedford truck at idle; but at full noise it was trully EPIC, pure early 1990's Formula 1 stuff. This is a clip of an F50 with this system fitted:

Check 1 minute 20 secs into the clip to see what I mean about no silencing. From memory it was rated at 120 dB and would get you thrown off any race track in Australia. Cool for 15mins; but I was told it was unbearable to ride in for any longer than that.

I was advised by the Tubi dealer to go for the full system; but with free flowing muffler boxes fitted. Still sounded awesome; but you could at least stand to be in it for longer periods and it was ok for most tracks. Kinda important when that was the only way I could legally use the car in Oz. It was a very expensive exhaust system, something in the order of $25k if you brought it in correctly and paid all the taxes. Then it's a big job to fit to the car.
