I've posted some pics in the Exotics in the Outback thread but here are a few more. Those who have been to the NT know how good it is to drive these roads. Huge vistas, smooth tar, little traffic. You've got to do it. :)

After an overnight in Port Augusta, I made a spontaneous decision to drive to Alice Springs yesterday and then to Tennant Creek today. Tomorrow I'll need all day to get to Darwin (about 1,000km). It's a pity I don't have more time as there are lots of places I'd like to visit while I'm up here. Maybe on the way back in few weeks. If you've got a sense of adventure, you MUST come up here and experience the joy of the unlimited road. It's not long enough, and I hope they extend it, but it is a wonderful thing that a government has done. It goes against all reason - when was the last time someone legislated for fun and excitement? :p

The bottom pic is the Barrow Creek Hotel. A completely messy dump on the outside but a lovingly cared-for dump on the inside. Tennant Creek looks scary with mesh covering every windows, but the people are nice.

Fantastic effort as always
Sounds like you completed the journey without incident.

So far, so good - but there's still this to go.

Navigation from Porsche centre Adelaide to Porsche centre Darwin would have to be one of the shortest instructions but longest distance of any?
