I've got a good price on getting the car back on a truck in a fortnight. Well, cheaper than flying up and paying for accommodation on the way back. I was all set to go this way until I asked the missus (as a joke really) if she's like to come with me. She said she'd be happy to fly to Alice and come back with me from there because she's always wanted to see Coober Pedy.  I'm not sure which way to go.

Day 1 - fly to Darwin arriving around lunchtime, collect car, drive to Katherine
Day 2 - drive to Alice (nearly 1,200km - early start required) for overnight stay
Day 3 - after sleep in meet wifey at airport at lunchtime and head straight off to Coober Pedy for overnight stay
Day 4 - spend a couple of hours doing the tourist thing and drive home arriving early evening.

The freight option brings a little bit of nervousness about strangers handling my car.  It's easy but there's no adventure.

Mmm......what would you do?

You make it sound like a good thing.  :o :D

The noise cancelling earphones would face their sternest test. :p

I might need to take her for a drive to Walker Flat first.

I know you're not big into music in your cars, preferring the sound of the engine, so I couldn't quite understand the want for ear buds, noise cancelling or otherwise.  Seems like you were just testing their noise suppression qualities in anticipation . I suspect full ear covering cans will be better. :D

I'm sure 360C can supply you with some sleeping tablets for her drink
