Regardless of how impressive or not this guy is, I'm concerned.

If this court action succeeds it may be the thin edge of the wedge. So that soon any drives communicated via the web could become targetted, or worse outlawed!

that will never happen. It's not the internet that's in question here, it's the legitimacy of a "club" that advertises that it is purposely going to do illegal things.
You can say I'm wrong, but my garage doesn't agree with that statement!!!

If you drive & associate with dickheads who like to cause trouble & endanger people's lives on our roads by showing other club members how "awsome" you & your car are......yes, you should be concerned :mischief:

If you drive with responsible clubs/people who organise club/sunday runs, let the cops know that they are out & about (if it's big enough)......you will be fine

You can't compare that bogan with a sophisticated gent, such as those in here, driving down a highway at a comfortable 250kph just to blow the cobwebs off their supercar. :D

Magistrate drops hoon charges against Peter Wayne Barnes

by Ken McGregor

A MAGISTRATE has dismissed charges against a self-confessed hoon, claiming police did not get close to convicting the former car cruise organiser.

Peter Wayne Barnes, 21, of Seaton, was charged under the newly-enacted law of promoting an event involving the misuse of motor which relates to a "car cruise" at Parafield in September, 2009.

It is the second time in several months the charge has failed to stand up in court and has put a serious dent in police aspirations to stamp out illegal behaviour at notorious car cruises.

Dismissing the prosecution case today, Port Adelaide Magistrate Paul Foley said there was "simply no evidence which goes close to making out the defendant as the organiser of the event."

Mr Barnes said he had been unfairly targeted by police and the law needed to be reviewed.

"They could have stopped anything else, they could have stopped (sic) bank robberies that happened or (sic) robberies in the pub.

"Instead they are over here trying to get me for something so minor that is not even true.

"They had no evidence, they knew they had no evidence from the start, and still they dragged it out just to put me through crap."

Mr Barnes said the government needed to build a place that car enthusiasts could safely and legally use to perform burn-outs or go drifting.

"I think the law is stupid, if you are organising a car cruise and someone else does something how is that liable on the organiser?" Mr Barnes said.

Magistrate Foley ordered police pay court costs of $4860.

Dugald can you show us the scores after round one please?

Hoons 2   ................ Taskforce Diagonal 0 + plus 19 escaped armed hold ups, house invasions and stolen car chases while you wasted time on the hoons....

Unfortunately they dont have half a brain between themselves otherwise they'd get together and buy a block of land out past Pt Gawler, put down some tar or concrete and go their hardest. They only want to go around in small circles. Its brain dead to most people but they could camp there all weekend and it would keep them occupied, happy and off the roads..
