Alvchua, mtarone and I had a great time today driving out of Vegas to the Hoover Dam and on the 167 out to the Valley of Fire. We avoided a couple of radar-toting rangers who were busy with other customers, and even discovered an airstrip which we liked so much we visited twice. I definitely have the urge to do more driving in the US, particularly in this desert country. They really know how to build a road.

Finding the fantastic roads and the unexpected airstrip all to ourselves certainly was the highlight. Well worth missing breakfast and lunch for!
