Run into anything interesting lately?

This magpie misjudged my speed today in the South East.  Getting it out wasn't much fun.  :argh:

Same thing happened to me.
Parrot got its head caught in the grille of my x5.
Still alive and well.

Getting it out was fun.
Lucky I had an old Wind cheater in the back to wrap around it to hold it and stop it from biting me as I was saving the bugger.

Mine didn't make it sadly.

It's not sad.

Magpies are carrion. They kill and eat the rare and colourful species like Lorikeet and Wren and all kinds of much more endearing birds.

There are way too many magpies in the world.

Didn't have cameras on us all the time back in the day, but growing up in the outback I've seen my fair share of roadkill oddities.

My tally when I drove out to Alice was 6 birds as I recall.

Here's one I spotted on the '09 Adelaide - Uluru weekend.

Hit a Kookaburra once, picked the bugger up in a blanket (huge beak) and took it to a refuge.

Was ok in the end.
