Same thing happened to me.
Parrot got its head caught in the grille of my x5.
Still alive and well.

Getting it out was fun.
Lucky I had an old Wind cheater in the back to wrap around it to hold it and stop it from biting me as I was saving the bugger.

It's not sad.

Magpies are carrion. They kill and eat the rare and colourful species like Lorikeet and Wren and all kinds of much more endearing birds.

There are way too many magpies in the world.

Hit a Kookaburra once, picked the bugger up in a blanket (huge beak) and took it to a refuge.

Was ok in the end.
