A fellow motor enthusiast has been is a spot of trouble lately.
Here is the story - she moved out to overtake a car and truck.
As she was passing the car and truck, gave the little sports car a squirt.
Mr Policeman clocked her at 140Kph, but once she was back in front of the truck, speed was back to the limit(100kph).
She was booked.

As it stands:
Car was impounded for 48hrs.
She is walking for 6 months.
Not sure of fine and demerit points, but I am guessing a rather large fine and quite a few points.

What do you guys think??? Was it a little harsh???? Was it deserved???

Just some back ground on this young lady - she is not your normal female driver, she CAN drive and likes nice cars.
Trying to talk her into a Lotus atm, but that's another story.   :p
Has a few small speeding fines from years ago but nothing recent.

Been there.....done that!
Tried to put my case forward to the "Victorian" officer, but "that's the law & no reason, no matter how rational it was, was going to change his mind" he said.

I think you could safely delete the 1st 4 options mate......no brainer :mischief:

edit.....maybe not.... :p

Hard to argue when you're clocked at 140, I've done it, passed a line of cars at 160 but if I were caught  as I thought after.

Sometimes the traffic just bogs down and you need to break free BUT what if one of the ones you were passing didnt see you coming and pulled out to pass as well ?

Pretty dangerous actually.

It wasn't a huge line of cars, it was one car and one truck with plenty of visibility. The road was clear for miles, accept for one Cop hiding in the bushes.

How is this pretty dangerous????

I was in a bus up there a while ago and it had to actually stop because a camel was in the middle of the road, if you were in a car doing very high speed you might be on it before you had a chance to stop.
Which, yes, does spoil the thought a bit.

No I meant what I did was, ie passing a line of cars, 4 or more, what your friend did was ok really except she did it too well.
