Great thread and photos mhh

Unfortunately we see posts from members about getting a new car and once they get it, we don't hear anymore.

So it's always great when you post these, allows most people who will never own one of these imagine what it would be like. Big

Just arrived Wagga after a long detour along the Alpine Way.  I'm not sure how far I drove but I'm sure it is over 1,000km.  I'm loving the car.  I've tried it roof down (got a teensy bit of sunburn), roof up and roof up with rear window down (which is loud but out of the elements).  The car is noticeable quicker than the 458 when on boost but there wouldn't be much in it in most conditions.  The ride is uncanny - I keep flinching when I see bumps I'm about to hit, but it glides over them.  The front end feels like a vacuum cleaner scooping up the road before it.  The compliance leads you to expect body road but there is none - just huge roadholding.  The road from Thredbo to Khancoban was a blinder - roof down and about 70km of mostly downhill with no white line but very smooth tar and plenty wide enough for passing.  Goobs had alerted me to this one and it was so worth the big detour.

I got to meet lot of people when filling up - more attention than the 458 (rarer? not sure why) but I don't think the tank is very big because I haven't got more than 62 litres into it.

Enough talk for now - time for some pics of the Alpine Way.  I'll put them in a separate post.

As has been said before, it's great that we get to hear this story.

What a lucky fella you are to be bringing back home also to a 458. Would be interesting down the track to hear which one you prefer more.

Regarding more attention than 458..............the MP4 just looks so much better in person than in photos/mags......it looks small in pics but in person, it's VERY imposing. I'm definitely one that likes the MP4 over a 458 in person. And, you don't get to see many.

Have fun on the rest of the trip!!!
