Looks fantastic... I never wanted to go to the UK until I saw the write ups on the treks like this. Ive done many thousands of miles on back roads in the US and loved it. Going to have to go to the UK now. Thanks for always sharing your adventures MHH.

Awesome adventure. Looks like some good hill climbs there.

The roads in Scotland have a huge amount of variety.  There are dead flat and straight bits (usually running alongside the huge lochs) where you can hit serious speed, plus long stretches of insane single track (plus turnouts every few hundred metres) which remind me of the Bothwell road but super smooth tar and longer stages with undulations and twists and turns and the excitement of braking from 130km/h to walking pace when you encounter a car coming the other way. Plus a dozen other types of sports car road, and just about all good. There's not much traffic and it is easy to pass.

I'm pretty impressed by this new 911 too.  It reminds me of the 458 with the way it deals with midcorner bumps.  It even makes a great noise (in the cabin at least) - much better than the 997 Carrera in this respect.

This is awesome.  Really got me thinking now.  I've got to be over that way for a wedding next year, which gives me plenty of time to plan something crazy.  But I'd probably start inside Scotland to avoid the southerners.

So how far north you headed?

I'm about to have brekky and then up to Durness, across to Tongue, then down through Lairg with an overnight in Inverness (probably).

I'll brief you fully before the wedding. :)

Awesome read Mhh, looks like a blast

We should have a section broken up for road trips around the world. Mhh has Uk covered.
If I wasn't so lazy i'd have all of Europe (excluding France) covered.
Many AE members have Australia covered...

Allas i'm too lazy to put pen to paper and write it out and share. Maybe if I break my ankle again i'll have the time
You can say I'm wrong, but my garage doesn't agree with that statement!!!
