Public transport is ok, everythnig goes there on the day, no waiting, getting home is harder, leave early and get a cab.

we left last year on saturday at 5ish (pre qualifying) and it took over 30 mins to get a taxi back to chapel st

public transport is excellent, tthe best I've ever experienced.. and it's FREE to ticket holders...

it doesn't get any better IMO.

best way to get a decent GP weekend... si to enter and race a car... MUCH cheaper than getting a corporate suite...

just buy a ute/mini/GT/Porsche or whatever support category suits your fancy, and race it... get tickets galore, catering, parking on site or nearby... all good!

taxi/car etc all stuffed, quicker to walk

I have a mate who lives nearby, who gives me his resident permit to park, so I can get right up close to gate 1 somewhere in a side street... but you have to get there early am, before 8, and don't try to leave before 4.30.

Even then, they put bollards up etc and I have to mount the pavement to get into where I want to park... luckily little Getz is skinny!

Cant remember what time we left but just kept walking till we found a cab, was easy really but you have to leave early enough.
I've only been once I was gobsmacked, also loved the pace car, the sl black was just brilliant
The pace car is really pushing it and the race cars behind it are just cruising, that's when you realise how fast they are really going.

So it sounds a few of us should be able to catch up for a dinner/drinks/breakfast?

Assuming people would want that? :P
