Likely to be held at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre and will be open 19-28th October 2012.
Based on 2010 exhibitors, the only 'exotic' marques present will be Lamborghini, Maserati, Porsche and possibly Koenigsegg.
The major companies that will NOT be present (based on 2010 exhibitors) are BMW, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Chrysler, Citroen, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep and Mini.

Once again, the above is purely shaped on indications from the Sydney Motor Show in 2010, not the 2011 Melbourne Motor Show, or on any facts about what companies may or may not be represented at the show next year.

No further detailed information at this point, but do post to keep us informed  :)

even though it's almost a year away, i will most certainly be there.

No news yet, what nobleambitions wrote is merely based on what was there last year, a bit of false info, so they might be there. Ferrari was there in 2008.

Disclaimer, people:

Maybe not the most exciting news about the 2012 Motor Show, but not much going around:

My fingers are crossed for the 208 being Peugeot's return to form.

Not holding my breath though...

A Hennessey Venom GT might be coming to AIMS 2012. Forgot to add this from a few weeks ago:

... The Taranaki business has already imported its first two 2012 model cars - a bright red supercharged Chevrolet Camaro and a black turbocharged Shelby Mustang - and it has certification to sell them in New Zealand.

Now it is getting similar certification for Australia, and it aims to launch a full marketing campaign there at the Australian Motor Show.

There, it hopes to have on display the world's fastest production car - a US$1.1 million (NZ$1.4m) Hennessey Venom GT which can get to 100 kmh in 2.5 seconds and to 320kmh in 15.3 seconds. ...
