It is most definitely a problem on 430's and beyond as that is when they introduced the trick electronic diff.

Having a very high end road car like a 430 Scud or 458s and it can't handle slicks is a bit of a rip off for the end user.
You would think that in full race mode with E diff off and still keep the abs on you can use slicks.
It must be an abs issue, I thought the E diff could be turned off in track/race mode?

Are slicks that much better than rspec ??

Different horses, R spec are better than slicks cold from the get go, slicks take time to get hot then they are better.

I was a second slower this years on new R spec than last year on old used slicks.

Time attack guys were on Advans R spec tyres and they were fast.

When I had the 430 & then the Scud I ran Hoosiers often on track, even at Bathurst on an occasion, they have a carcass & side walls like slicks, I had no issues with the diff or ABS, as long as you match the rolling radius as you say it was fine.

That's good to know I think you can also run 19" on a 458 without hitting the caliper that opens the tyre range a bit more than a 20" for tyre options

This is a good site for wheel and tyre data.

Time attack guys always run those as it is their control tyre.

Do the Tyres feel more direct or is it just more grip for tyre width

The Advans have a bit more wall movement than the slicks I've used, you can feel it as they move around under brakes and cornering but still give great feedback. Soft A050 are very good they grip and slide no nasty snap lose of grip on my car anyways. The ABS kicks in more under hard braking probably due to the smaller contact patch with a R spec tyre and that's not an issue or fault just pushing hard.

I've done five events on my old set of Advans they still had tread left, thought I'd try a new set as the old ones have done a few heat cycles. Shame they don't do a 19" I'd fit Advans on my road 360.

Just stuck all my random videos from the AMF 2016 day together.

Don't know why we didn't make a AMF 2016 thread - lazy bastards.
