Went on a skid pan once, Mercedes drive day but one of those with the frame under the car, I dont imagine it's much like the real thing, wouldn't do it again on a full stomach though.

Same with braking, showed you how progressive braking was far more effective than just standing on brake pedal and relying on ABS, after 10 of those in a row I was ready to puke.

Incredibly progressive braking is far more effective, whether you remember that or not in an emergency situation is another matter.

Interestingly, the BMW driver training just say stomp on the brakes as hard as you can.

think you're confusing skid training with racing

for snow/ice/wet etc... progressive braking is the go...

for racing in grippy conditions... just stomp.

No .......this was just braking on bitumen in a straight line. stomp but just short of activating the ABS, works like a charm. Once you activate the ABS you go forward in small increments, takes longer to stop.

road tyres? On a race track, is not much better than wet race tyres....

you would be blown away how fast racing wet tyres are in the rain...

Bowe did a 1.44 at PI in the Lambo in the wet..... most guys coudn't do that in the same car on slicks in the dry.

Just for all those that spun on the day, here's my attempt at making you feel better...  I too almost threw it away with a dodging turn-in and gear change.

Here's how not to do turn 11:

Yep just road tyres on an ML , can stop faster without activating ABS

And here's how it's done properly...
