Our campaign came to a shuddering halt in Castambul stage where were clocked exceeding 140 km/h SEVEN times. With a 35 minute penalty, we went from second in class to last. My co-driver isn't talking to me.

But let's be honest you did bring a stallion to the dressage.  Sooner or later this was going to happen

Great event, despite our poor showing. Next time we'll follow the example of some other competitors and rig up an over-speed warning device. And do some proper recce. And get some pace notes. And driver training? Who said that??

We certainly don't need a better car. The RS was excellent - a joy in the special stages with the suspension and PDK set for maximum attack, and a perfectly comfy cruiser for the transport stages.

After I nearly got cleaned up by another car when they flagged us on to the track, and since we already had a huge penalty, we decided not to wait in the lineup for another hour for a 60 second drive and cut ourselves loose.
