I remember about 4-5 years ago there was a guy in NZ that was rebuilding one from a shell, spending a packet on it, was going to bring it to aus. It was resprayed a pinkish red. That's the last I remember of it. May or may not be the same car.

Is that Joe signiorelli?

Yeah they drive a bit like a barge, but pretty quick in a straight line. A Japanese xkr. My 1991 20btt had the ECCS interior, tv, sat nav, car phone, electric seats, digital dash... Pretty advanced tech for it's time.

Brett had a mixed day...

Was initally disappointed with his first attempt, but got down to a 2.00.65 i think it was....

but later in the day the car developed a problem... backfiring and running sick..... needs investigation, although he managed to drive back to work.

Wasn't a good day for team foam, as his business partner in the 308 that does targa tasmnaia, did a jump at too high a speed, and the landing smashed the engine sump....They got to stage end, but missed several other stages now.

They're essentially non classified now, but I think they managed to patch it up overnight to at least complete the event today...

Not bad Brett...

as far as i can tell, that's the fastest time for a 308 for many years.

Especially a car with standard almost everything. Blue printed Euro dry sump engine with "standard" off the shelf hi compression pistons and Using Dunlop R spec tyres and race brake pads/hoses/fluids as the only mod.

There are stories about faster times, but I'm not sure of any evidence, and the sources of those times are of course, well, you know!!!....
