I just got back to London after a day trip by Eurostar to visit the Motor Show.  The crowds were huge - I wanted to go on a trade day but couldn't line up the dates.  The public days are a crush.  I had a letter to get on to the Ferrari stand and the McLaren guys were letting people on if they didn't mind waiting a few minutes.  The McLaren stand was the highlight for me - really nice sales guys who were knowledgable and enthusiastic.  Ferrari stand, not so much although I had the run of the stand. The show didn't have as much new metal of interest as Frankfurt did last year - maybe it's just me - but it was still a fabulous day out.  The Eurostar is an amazing way to travel - so smooth, quiet and fast.  Breakfast on the way there and dinner on the way back. :)

Here's a few pics - I was just banging away with my pocket camera while trying to see the cars through the people.

Low point of the displays was Lamborghini - really crappy looking array.

The CLS Shooting Brake looks better than the sedan but I'm not sure about the durability of the wood in the boot.  Plenty of head room in the rear too.

BMW had the new 3 series wagon which looks almost 5 series size.  Also the 4 door 6 series, the M6 (no thanks) and some dumb badging on the Hybrids.

The new SL63 looked damn nice in matte white with red.  The SLS GT looks like a pretty mild update.  The new A class was getting most of the attention on the Benz stand.

Lambo's new yellow doesn't do it for me and the 570SL was a shocker.

The a class sport is a realy nice place to sit in i would happily trade in the XR5 for one, had a play with it, the new sl, sls gt and cls shooting back in the merc corporate area at the dtm race in spain

The new Range Rover was getting plenty of attention.  That's one big mother.

So... having seen an F12 in the flesh what did you think MHH?
